Individual classical guitar lessons in Caserta and online.
My teaching is closely connected to what I seek in my own playing. I have always been drawn to the guitar’s ability to sing, to its colours and the range of expression it offers. In lessons, I want to help students hear these possibilities in their own playing and to explore them.
This is where technique and interpretation come together. Choosing a fingering, for example, means considering how it allows a phrase to unfold as well as how it feels in the hand. We work carefully on these details, looking for solutions that suit the individual student and serve the music. Even in the most demanding passages, I want there to be room for character and awareness of the musical result.
An important part of teaching is helping students become more independent. I want them to understand why we choose a particular solution and how to judge whether it is helping. This takes time and a willingness to experiment. When a passage is not improving, we look at what is causing the difficulty and how to work on it, rather than relying on repetition alone. Gradually, students can bring that same attention and judgement to their own practice.
Music has always been a personal necessity for me, and I care about the relationship each student develops with it. Alongside the patience that study requires, I want to preserve the pleasure of playing: hearing a phrase take shape, discovering a colour, or finally being able to express something as one had imagined it.
